The 2025 Southeast Asian Games (SEA), an international multi-sport event sanctioned by the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF), is set to take place from December 9 to 20, 2025, with Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla serving as the main host cities in Thailand. Following the SEAGF's confirmation of Thailand as the host country, the joint bid by these three cities was awarded the hosting rights on January 13, 2023. Notably, this marks the first time the host city for the Southeast Asian Games has been determined through the newly introduced bidding and election process.
This will be the seventh edition of the Southeast Asian Games hosted by Thailand, with Bangkok previously hosting the event in 1959, 1967, 1975, and 1985. It will be the first time that Chonburi and Songkhla are serving as host cities. The SEA Games Federation has also unveiled the list of sports for the 2025 Games, which includes billiards and snooker. The billiards events will feature singles and team competitions, though the specific billiards discipline to be contested has yet to be confirmed.
